Production & Admin Assistant - Kickstart Role (25 hours per week)

About the role

The Production & Admin Assistant will support the running of our social enterprise which is on a mission to create jobs for women survivors of domestic abuse. You will be part of a team making the paper flowers we sell, as well as helping with admin tasks. 

This role is part of the Government funded Kickstart programme, which is open to young people aged 18-24 who are currently claiming Universal Credit and are at risk of long-term unemployment. If this sounds like you, talk to your Work Coach about Kickstart and see if it could be right for you.

 

Production tasks

- Working on a skilled production line to make handmade paper flowers

- Assembling flowers into beautiful bouquets and packing them up ready for dispatch to customers

- Planning your workload to ensure orders are completed on time

- Checking flowers to ensure consistency and quality

 

Admin tasks

- Processing customer orders via our website, including checking address details, calculating shipping dates, marking orders as dispatched etc.

- Responding to customer inquiries by email, social media and phone

- Ordering office supplies and stationery

- Helping to plan and schedule social media posts

- Updating text and pictures on the website

- Helping to plan and run events such as flower making workshops

 

About you

Aged 18-24 and eligible for the Kickstart programme

Good written and spoken English

Good at crafts/ making things with your hands

Good computer skills (Microsoft Word and Excel, internet, email)

Enthusiastic and willing to learn

Organised and good attention to detail

Friendly and able to get on with people from different backgrounds

 

If you have previous experience in admin, that's great. But we are also open to helping you develop these skills while in the job.

Due to the nature of our work supporting survivors of domestic abuse, this role is only open to women candidates.

Production Manager (28 hours per week)

Salary: starting at £26,000 per year (pro rata)

Contract: Fixed term for 1 year, with potential to extend

About the role

The Production Manager will play a key role in our social enterprise which is on a mission to create employment for women survivors of domestic abuse. You will be leading on the day to day production of our paper flowers  and making sure our customer orders are perfect every time. You will support and supervise our small team of flower makers, helping them to work quickly, efficiently and to the highest standards, whilst also having fun! We are a small, but ambitious and rapidly growing social enterprise and we're looking for someone dynamic and enthusiastic who could grow with the business. 

Summary of tasks

  • You will have overall responsibility for ensuring our regular customer orders are completed perfectly and on time. You will lead by example, making flowers yourself to time and quality standards, as well as supervising other colleagues to do the same.

  • Allocating flower making tasks across the team to ensure orders are completed on time, and inspiring and supporting the team to complete their tasks

  • Quality checking flowers made by the team before sending out to customers

  • Identifying ways to improve the quality and speed of production

  • Day to day oversight of the studio space, including ensuring safety processes are followed

About you

We are looking for a highly motivated person who will relish the challenge of helping our social enterprise to grow so that we can expand our social mission to support more survivors of domestic abuse.

You will have experience in supervising people and motivating a team to ensure excellent standards are met. You will have great attention to detail and take pride in getting the job done.
